Pastor Fox was born in northern Indiana and lived “in the backyard of Notre Dame University” until he was nine years old. The family then moved to a small farm outside of Walkerton, Indiana. After being in home school through the seventh grade, he was enrolled in Community Baptist Christian School and graduated in 1996. The next fall, he began studies at Ambassador Baptist College in Shelby, North Carolina. While there, he met Heidi Perry, and they married after graduation in 2001. In between their graduation and wedding, Daniel worked in Willis Baptist Church in Willis, Michigan. Pastor and Mrs. Fox moved back to North Carolina where Daniel continued work on his Masters degree. While there, they were members of Maranatha Baptist Church, pastored by Frank Camp. In October of 2003, they were asked to candidate at First Baptist Church of Wayland, and by God’s grace and guidance, moved here the next March with their two month old son, Levi. The Foxes now have five more children – Ethan, Autumn, Moriah, Paisley, and Journey.
After serving for nearly 20 years as the assistant to Pastor Dan Deatrick, the church voted to call Pastor Fox as their new pastor upon the announcement of Pastor Deatrick’s retirment (after 35+ years of pastoring FBC!).
